Dr. Michael Clerk is a Board certified specialist in Prosthodontics.
Dr. Clerk graduated from Dalhousie University’s School of Dentistry in 1996 after completing a Master of Science Degree in Chemistry from Dalhousie University (1991), and an Honors Degree in Chemistry from Saint Mary’s University (1989).
Following his graduation in 1996, Dr. Clerk worked seven years in general dentistry with a particular interest and focus on prosthetic and esthetic (cosmetic) dentistry. After completing several advanced courses in esthetic dentistry Dr. Clerk returned to Dalhousie University in 2003 to pursue post graduate training in Prosthodontics. In the fall of 2006, Dr. Clerk successfully obtained a Diploma in Prosthodontics, a Master of Applied Science in Biomedical Engineering, and his Fellowship of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Dr. Clerk lectures locally on all aspects of Prosthodontics, and taught Clinical Prosthodontics to senior dental students at the Dalhousie School of Dentistry from 2003-2008. He is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, Nova Scotia Dental Association, and the Atlantic Prosthodontic Society. His particular areas of interest are Implant Prosthodontics, Fixed Prosthodontics, and Esthetic Dentistry.
Dr. Clerk maintains a full-time practice in Dartmouth, where he lives with his wife, Robin, and three children.
Shelley – Practice Manager
Shelly has been working with Dr. Clerk since the inception of his practice in 2007. She graduated from Acadia University in 1980 with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. Shelley is responsible for the business side of Dr. Clerk’s practice, and oversees the entire operation of the practice.
Patricia – Hygiene Coordinator
Patricia received her Diploma in Dental Assisting in 2008 and worked as a chair side assistant for 5 years. She moved to the administrative side of dentistry in 2013. Patricia has been with Dr. Clerk’s practice since July 2016. She is predominantly responsible for scheduling and managing all of Dr. Clerk’s hygiene patients but is well versed in all administrative duties. When not at work, Patricia enjoys time with her family, dog, and riding her horse.
Sarah – Registered Dental Hygienist
I started my dental career in 2015 by completing the Dental Assistance course at the Nova Scotia Community College. I continued my dental education and obtained my Diploma in Dental Hygiene from Dalhousie University in 2019. I have been working with Dr. Clerk’s team since July 2019.
Katelyn – Registered Dental Hygienist
I received my undergraduate degree in Biology from Saint Mary’s in 2017. I then completed my diploma in Dental Hygiene from Dalhousie University in 2019. I have been working with Dr. Clerk’s team since July 2019.
