Dental Hygiene

Hygiene 2Dental Hygiene is important to oral and overall health.  Your mouth is the window to your body’s health.  Home care, regular brushing and flossing, and regular dental cleanings help keep gums and teeth healthy.  Scaling removes plaque and calculus (tarter) buildup from teeth and below gums.  If left untreated, this buildup can cause gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) and progress to periodontal disease (destruction of the tooth supporting tissues).

Proper cleaning of dental work including crowns, bridges, dentures and implant- supported prostheses, is just as important as your natural teeth.  Good home care including brushing and flossing, and in office hygiene visits are very important.
